- 3 T. butter
- 1 large Vidalia onion, cut into eight‘s and thinly sliced
- 1 package 1-1/3oz. dry onion soup mix
- Cook onion and butter for about 15 minutes.
- Add 3 c. water and soup mix.
- Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Salt and Pepper to taste.
- Eat as is or ladle into heatproof bowls.
- Top with toasted French Bread and grated cheese.
- Put under broiler until cheese is melted.
